Gemaal Davis, a sophmore at Holy Cross High School (Think Sylven Landesberg), looks like your typical New York City scoring guard from afar. Upon closer look you will see a drive and passion for the game that will lead to this young man's steady improvement. As the focal point of the JV this year, Davis was asked to score, rebound and run the team. Although many would have been satisfied with his season and progress, Davis is constantly striving to get better. " Team wise our season didn't go as planned " he admits. " Scoring wise and defensively I played well but i know i have to improve to take my game to the next level". And this is something that you can bet he will do sooner than later. He points to his on the ball defense, jump shot and ball handeling as areas that he wants to improve on. Davis sees himself playing high division one basketball in two years and lists Arizona, Marquette , California , USC and Wake Forest as schools he likes and is interested in. Playing in the Catholic league in New York City, he will not get a shortage of oppourtunites to follow other big name guards from the league that are now playing high division one basketball. "It feels good knowing that the league (C.H.S.A.A AA) is the #1 high school league in the country. The competitiveness gets my game better quicker". In the end Davis isn't a kid who is driven by fame and money but rather a true love for the game which any true baller can respect. "God is good.  Witout the lord none of this would be possible. I'm just chasing these hoop dreams while staying humble and hungry". Combine this attitude with his skills on the court and you have someone everyone should be on the look for in the next two years.
